Formula 1 is coming back to Portugal. The Portuguese Grand Prix returns to the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão for 2027 and 2028, and the 2027 race weekend is scheduled for 18 to 20 June, between Monaco and Silverstone.
The return of F1 to Portugal
Portimão hosted Formula 1 in 2020 and 2021, and drivers praised its dramatic layout, full of blind crests and steep changes of elevation. The return was announced by Formula 1 in December 2025, and the 2027 calendar places the race in mid-June, in the heart of the Algarve summer season.
Race tickets are sold through the official channels and are not included in our tours.
How to get there from Lisbon
Portimão is about 280 km from Lisbon, around 2h45 by motorway. Expect very high demand for accommodation and transport in the Algarve that weekend. Most visitors fly into Lisbon and spend a few days there before heading south, which makes the journey a one-way trip.
