The October 2026 pilgrimage on 12–13 October closed this year's season of great pilgrimages in Fátima. The next one is the most important in years: 12–13 May 2027, the 110th anniversary of the first apparition. Here is the full calendar for 2027, and what happens on the other days of the year.
Fátima pilgrimage dates 2027
The Sanctuary holds an International Anniversary Pilgrimage on the 12th and 13th of every month from May to October, the months of the six apparitions reported in 1917. May and October are by far the largest.
| Pilgrimage | Dates | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| May · 110th anniversary | Wed 12 – Thu 13 May | The biggest of the year, with very large crowds. Book months ahead. |
| June | Sat 12 – Sun 13 Jun | A weekend this year, so busier than a usual June. |
| July | Mon 12 – Tue 13 Jul | Summer heat; calmer than May and October. |
| August | Thu 12 – Fri 13 Aug | Traditionally linked to Portuguese emigrants, many of whom visit in summer. |
| September | Sun 12 – Mon 13 Sep | Pleasant weather and moderate crowds. |
| October | Tue 12 – Wed 13 Oct | The closing pilgrimage, on the anniversary of the last apparition. Very busy. |
The Sanctuary publishes each programme and its presiding celebrant closer to the date. Our detailed guide to the May 2027 pilgrimage covers the 110th anniversary.
How each pilgrimage unfolds
Evening of the 12th
The Rosary at the Chapel of the Apparitions, followed by the candlelight procession across the esplanade. On the great pilgrimages the square fills with tens of thousands of candles.
Morning of the 13th
The Rosary, the International Mass on the esplanade and the Farewell Procession, when the statue of Our Lady returns to the Chapel of the Apparitions while pilgrims wave white handkerchiefs.
The candlelight procession happens every evening
You do not have to wait for a pilgrimage. Since February 2025, the Sanctuary holds the candlelight procession every evening of the year, after the Rosary at 21:30 at the Chapel of the Apparitions, weather permitting. During the summer timetable, Thursday evenings have a Eucharistic procession at the same time instead. Read our candlelight procession guide.
How to get there from Lisbon
Fátima is about 130 km north of Lisbon, around 1h30 by car. On pilgrimage days the roads around the Sanctuary are restricted and car parks fill early. With a private driver you are dropped as close as the restrictions allow and collected at an agreed point, and you can return to your Lisbon hotel the same night after the procession. Compare all the options in our Lisbon to Fátima guide.
Our Fátima private tour starts from 72€ per person in the van and 95€ per person in an estate car. A certified guide can join for +80€ (half day) or +120€ (full day) per group. Parishes and larger groups: see our Fátima page.

Good to know
- Dress respectfully, as for any place of worship.
