Escape Lisbon for the mystical peaks of Sintra. With your dedicated chauffeur, you reach the fairytale Pena Palace ahead of the crowds and the enigmatic gardens of Quinta da Regaleira. After the mountains, we reach the dramatic cliffs of Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of continental Europe — before descending into the refined seaside elegance of Cascais.
About this tour
Sintra is the day trip everyone takes from Lisbon, and the one most people get wrong: narrow mountain roads, no parking near the palaces and long queues for the shuttle buses. With your own driver, the logistics disappear, and the day becomes what it should be: fairytale palaces, mysterious gardens and the Atlantic coast.
You start at Pena Palace before the crowds, descend to the gardens and underground tunnels of Quinta da Regaleira, and stop for lunch in Sintra's historic village. In the afternoon you reach Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, and follow the coast down to the royal seaside town of Cascais.

Frequently asked questions
Is this tour private?
Yes. Every Black Key tour is private: the vehicle and driver are reserved for your group only, and you never share with strangers.
Are monument tickets included?
No. Entrance tickets for Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira and other monuments are paid separately. Pena uses timed entry slots and sells out in high season, so we recommend booking ahead; we can book them for you when you reserve.
Can we visit more palaces in one day?
You can, but we do not recommend more than two major palaces plus the coast. Sintra's sites are large, and trying to see four usually means seeing none of them properly.
How much walking is there?
A fair amount inside the palace parks and at Regaleira, including slopes and stairs. The driver takes you between all the sites, so there is no walking between them.
Is a guide included?
The tour includes your private driver. A certified guide is optional and costs +120€ per group. Guides bring the history and stories behind each stop, and are available in several languages on request.
Can we change the itinerary?
Yes. The route below is our recommended plan, not a fixed script. Tell us what matters most to you and we will adapt the stops and the timing.
